A ‘Process Server’ is someone who delivers legal documents in a way that is required, to hand the person in question, the legal documentation. A good process server will be familiar with many types of documents and the ways in which they can be served. In other cases the process server can post the papers through a letterbox, or stick them to a door, leave them at a reception desk or, hand them to the person.
Our process servers can carry out service of a full range of documents, and provide a sworn statement of service. Although generally instructed to serve process by law firms, we are able to advise and carry out process serving for private individuals and businesses. Indeed many people now act for themselves in minor legal matters and request for the service privately.
Once the papers are served, the server will then complete the relevant legal paperwork to prove that the service has been completed, this is normally by an Affidavit of Service, a Certificate of Service or a Statement of Service.
